Holiday trip

Plans to go out of town for the holidays was already a done thing as far as September. It was late October when we were faced with this problem: How can my husband and I tell the children that we couldn’t go because the bonus we were counting on will be out very much later. We didn’t say a thing and kept our fingers crossed.  Full of compassion, the small company I worked for who has always been there for us thought of a grand plan.  They will give out a payday advance to everyone of us.

They explained in so many words that collections were pretty bad and that giving each one of us a fast cash will be easier on the cash flow than giving out the usual three  months bonus in lump sum that was for us a grandfather benefit.  Pretty soon the cash started to trickle in.  Without being obvious, my husband and I cut down on other expenses and increased our savings.  We had that holiday trip after all and boy was it a holiday we will never forget and we had pictures to remember it by.
