Accidents Can Happen

Accidents, specially car accidents, are very common occurrences. In 2004, it is estimated that 1.2 million people were killed by motor vehicle related accidents. This totals to 2.2% of all deaths. Also 50 million more were injured. Thus with the total world population of 6 Billion, this relates to almost 1% or 1 in every 100 of all people in the world. Consider that these occur more often in developed countries where cars are in greater use and this chance increases for people in the US. Note also that this do not cover accidents that do not cause injury only car or property damage.

People depend so much on the use of cars such that any down time causes disruption in their daily lives. Considering that rate of occurrence of car collisions, this down time is a very distinct possibility. Also, the cost of repair, not considering medical costs for injuries, can be devastating. Thus, any form of protection in the form of car insurance would be helpful. A cheap car insurance is always preferable than nothing.
